NEWSLETTER TO PARENTS
Welcome back to a new academic year, the Autumn Term is a very busy time of year and this term will be no exception. Many events and important dates have already been made. There are many exciting celebrations planned and organised for the coming year.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome several new members of the teaching staff, who joined us in the new term:
Mrs. R. Scott, who is teaching Class 4 (Year 3)
Mrs. A. Maguire, who is teaching Class 3 (Year 4)
Mrs. J. Sanderson, who is covering Mrs. Bird (Reception) during her secondment.
With many new projects and plans featuring in the School Development Plan, this promises to be an exciting time at Alderwood School and with your combined support should prove to be another successful one.
SENCO
Mrs. J. Pitt left at the end of the summer term and I am now advising parents that the new SENCO is Ms. J. Brice

HEATHLY EATING - Apples
The school will continue to sell apples at morning break commencing the week 9th september 2002.

Whole Apple - 20p
Please make sure your child has the right money.
DINNER MONIES
Please could we remind parents that dinner monies should be paid in advance. You may pay them weekly, monthly, half-termly, preferably on a Monday morning.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PARENTS AND CARERS
COLLECTING CHILDREN AT THE END OF THE DAY
The School must be informed if anyone than yourselves is collecting your child.
PARKING OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL
No Parking on Zig-Zag lines. Also please would parents show care and consideration for the children and also the disabled bus when driving their cars round Restons Crescent.
DOGS IN THE PLAYGROUND
As part of Greenwich Council Directive DOGS are NOT allowed on school premises, this includes the playground.
APPOINTMENTS
If parents would like to make an appointment with any teacher or the Headteacher, please make arrangements through the school office. We ask parents only to come into the school building at the beginning and end of the school day if it is really necessary as the corridors and front enterance can become quite congested. This is for the safety of your children.
CLOTHING
Now the weather is changing please make sure your child's coat is clearly labelled with their name and that all other articles of clothing are also labelled.
DRINKS IN SCHOOL
Please may I remind you that for Health and Safety reasons only water and flavoured water is allowed in school.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE
The Christmas Fayre is on 30th November. You may send in any unwanted gifts, such as toiletries etc. Or if you are able please make any items that we can sell.
